HCSA Compliance · Website Copy Checker

Check your clinic website copy against the HCSA rules — before it goes live.

Paste any website copy — a hero headline, a treatment description, a page title, a meta description — and see the words most likely to breach the Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations. It's a first-pass guide, not a legal clearance.

Checks for the five families of language that trip up clinic websites: superlatives, guarantees, deal-language, comparisons, and MC-style solicitation.

This scans wording only — it can't judge whether a factual claim is substantiable, or catch every edge case. Treat a clean result as "no obvious red words", not a compliance sign-off. For the full rules, see HCSA/PHMC guidelines for clinic websites.

What it looks for

The five things that get flagged.

Each maps to a content rule under the Advertisement Regulations. Knowing the categories helps you write clean the first time, instead of fixing after.

Superlatives & laudatory words

Anything that praises or implies you're the best, biggest or most advanced — banned even when it's true. This is where most clinic homepages slip.

best · leading · advanced · No.1 · world-class

Guarantees & miracle claims

Promises of a result, a cure, no pain, or no downtime create an expectation the rules don't allow you to set.

guaranteed · permanent cure · painless · instant

Deal & price language

Prices are fine; prices dressed as offers aren't. Prefixes, discounts, packages and time limits all cross the line.

from $ · as low as · % off · free · limited time

Comparisons

You can't compare yourself to other providers or run them down — even without naming them.

better than · cheaper than · unlike other clinics

MC-style solicitation

Advertising the potential to get a medical certificate implies one will be issued regardless of condition, which isn't allowed.

MC in minutes · sick leave · medical leave

Titles & meta too

Your page titles and meta descriptions are part of the advertisement. The same words are a breach there — and that's what shows in Google.

About this checker

Good to know.

Is a clean result a guarantee my copy is compliant?

No. The checker flags high-risk wording, but compliance is broader — every factual claim on your site must also be accurate and substantiable, and some breaches come from images or structure rather than words. Read a clean result as a good first pass, then check the claims themselves.

Does the wording matter, or just the meaning?

Both, but the wording is where enforcement is clearest. MOH publishes an actual list of banned laudatory terms, so those are unambiguous. The checker catches the well-established words; judgment calls — like whether a phrase implies a comparison — still need a human read.

Can I paste my whole homepage?

Yes. Paste as much as you like — headlines, body copy, titles, meta descriptions — and it'll highlight every match in context. Every check gets a shareable link, so you can send the exact result to a copywriter or business partner instead of re-explaining what you found. One caveat: very long pastes produce a very long link, which some apps truncate when you send it — for a full page, sharing a screenshot alongside the link is a safe backup. For a page-by-page walkthrough of what's allowed where, see the clinic website rules.

Does anything I paste get stored?

No. The check runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to a server. If you use "Copy shareable link", your text gets encoded directly into the URL — the link works because the words are inside it, not because anything was saved on our end. Treat it like any link you'd paste into an email: don't build one from real patient information.

Rather not police it yourself?
